Throughout the semester, I have made significant progress in achieving the course learning objectives. I have developed a greater awareness and appreciation for linguistic differences, recognizing them as valuable resources for effective communication. 

In terms of writing strategies, I have enhanced my skills in reading, drafting, revising, editing, and self-assessment. I have learned to approach my writing process with more intentionality, utilizing strategies such as brainstorming, outlining, and seeking feedback to improve the quality of my work.This can be seen when I write my essays such as my technical description essay where these skills were needed in order to properly convey the description.

Collaboration has been an integral part of my writing process this semester. I have actively participated in group discussions, peer reviews, and collaborative projects, recognizing the value of diverse perspectives and constructive feedback. Engaging in the social aspects of writing has enriched my work and helped me develop a more well-rounded approach to my writing process. Looking though my classmate’s dissuasion board answer helped me see the different perspectives of people when it comes to answering questions. 

The use of library resources, online databases, and the Internet has been instrumental in my research and writing project such as my lab report.Without the assistance of the CCNY library database I could have done that assignment. I have become more proficient in navigating these resources to locate relevant and credible sources for my assignments. Additionally, I have strengthened my source use practices, including evaluating, integrating, quoting, paraphrasing, summarizing, synthesizing, analyzing, and citing sources. Proper citation and source integration have become second nature to me, ensuring the integrity and academic rigor of my writing.The lab report was my first time using the Apa7 format to cite anything. 

Overall, my perceptions of what writing is and does have evolved significantly throughout the semester. I now see writing as a dynamic process that involves constant adaptation, collaboration, and engagement with different genres and audiences. I have gained confidence in formulating and articulating my stance through writing, and I understand the importance of effective communication in various disciplinary contexts.

As I reflect on my growth as a writer, I am proud of the progress I have made in achieving the course learning objectives. The skills and knowledge I have acquired will undoubtedly benefit me in future academic and professional endeavors. I am excited to present my portfolio, which showcases my development as a writer and demonstrates my ability to engage in effective writing across diverse contexts.
